How
to begin Family History research.
There are almost as many ways to research your family as there
are families themselves. But certain basic concepts have
been found over time to be the most productive in the results
achieved. Consulting
proven sources - but only in the correct sequence - will yield the best results when measured against time, energy and cost
inputs.
What
is certain is that for the amateur or beginner making time to
learn these concepts and become familiar with the main sources will
always prove worthwhile.
Starting
out on your journey of
discovery without this preparatory work is almost certain to lead to
frustration and even to abandoning the task before it has properly
begun.
We are happy to meet you, face to face, for
a consultation lasting for
up to two hours at our offices. Apart from the fee for this
consultation there is no further obligation on the client.

What
we do
Where
necessary we will take on commissions without an initial consultation
but emphasise that more progress and cost savings may well be secured
by an initial face to face meeting.
Following
the first meeting many do elect to commission us to undertake
research on their behalf. Others decide to progress things
themselves. We guide clients by occasional phone calls after
their initial consultation. We do not provide a phone inquiry
service in isolation as we have learnt that this is not satisfactory to
either side.
Please
feel free to contact us
by email or phone to discuss your professional requirements which will
have our full and immediate attention.
