Pat Nolan

Irish Origins Research Agency grew out of the life long interest  in family research of its founder.  He has traced his own family, on his mother’s side, back to Yorkshire (in England) in 1556 and his father's (to date) to just 1660. This aspect continues to be very much a “work in progress”

He honed his expertise while working as a tourist board officer providing frequent one to one advice,  staging group lectures and conducting workshops for visitor to Ireland who were seeking their roots.

At the invitation of the then Australian Ambassador and British Airways he has made three extensive lecture tours to Australia and New Zealand.   He has had the honour of representing Ireland at the First World Congress of Family History (Sydney) and earlier at the Fourth Australasian Congress on Genealogy and Heraldry in Canberra, ACT.

At the invitation of the Adult Education Committee of the Local Government in his native County Kilkenny the Director provides  an annual family history course each autumn.
In order to secure a recognised academic qualification he first secured a Diploma from University Collage Cork  in local heritage studies
(Dls) and went on to secure a  Batchelor of Arts Honours degree from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, again in Local and heritage studies.

He is the author of extensive articles notable; Catholic Marriage Record in Ireland and  Irish Land Registration Records, both of which have been published in Australia. He has compiled a number of indicies to learned journals and contributes frequent articles to numerious journals.
